A few years ago, I was involved in planning an alternative Christmas gift fair. While I loved the concept of donating to worthwhile organizations as a gift for someone else, simply writing a check seemed to lack the fun and thoughtfulness of more traditional options. I was looking for a creative way to donate warm clothing to a local homeless shelter while still having something to wrap up and put under the tree. The final product was a notepad set featuring– you guessed it– a naked snowman!

For the donor card, I wrote a short poem about a little snowman with nothing to wear. This poem later became the inspiration for my book. It is my hope that Flakey will usher in a new holiday tradition for you and your family.
